To provide insightful and forward-thinking national security advice and support to the Secretary of Defense and Department of Defense leadership on matters affecting strategy, planning, management of international alliances and partnerships, crisis preparedness and response, budgetary and operational oversight, and representation of the Department in international engagements and interagency decision-making processes in service of U.S. national defense.
