Mission: The mission of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for East Asia is to consistently provide responsive, forward-thinking, and insightful policy advice and support to the Secretary of War, the Under Secretary of War for Policy and the Assistant Secretary of War for IPSA, and the Department of War, in alignment with national security objectives in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Develops regional security and defense strategy for the EAS Area of Responsibility
- Foster bilateral and multilateral defense/military relationships in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Serves as the focal point or support for the Secretary's policies of interest within OUSW(P) and with DoW entities and the interagency for assigned areas of responsibility.
