Mission: The Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for the Near East and Central Asia is the principal advisor to the Under Secretary of War for Policy and Assistant Secretary of War for International Security Affairs on international security strategy and policy on issues of DOW interest that relate to the nations and international organizations in the region, their governments and defense establishments; and for oversight of security cooperation programs and foreign military sales programs in this region.
