Develop policy guidance and oversee the implementation of all DoW policy, strategies, and plans related to strategic influence, information operations (IO), operations in the information environment, information warfare, and countering adversary cognitive warfare. The DASW(SIIP) is dual-hatted as the Deputy Principal Information Operations Advisor (DPIOA). On behalf of the Principal Information Operations Advisor, designated pursuant to 10 U.S.C. §397, key responsibilities include:
- Providing oversight of policy, strategy, planning, resource management, operational considerations, personnel, and technology development across all elements of DoW Information Operations.
- Coordinating on behalf of the Under Secretary of War for Policy (USW(P)) all plans, programs, actions, and requirements related to Operations in the Information Environment, consistent with national strategies and DoW policy and objectives.
- Developing, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of strategies, policies, and plans related to IO.
- Leading DoW Psychological Operations (PSYOP) policy oversight, budgeting, and resource prioritization.
- Overseeing DoW PSYOP strategy, programs, guidance, strategic assessments, and plans to ensure alignment with the National Defense Strategy (NDS).
- Serving as the policy lead for all information and influence issues and as the primary counterpart for the DoW's information and influence stakeholders.
- Supporting the oversight and review of DoW deception activities to ensure alignment with the NDS and policy objectives.
- Leading DoW engagements with Congress on all IO issues and conducting oversight of Department-level congressional requirements related to IO.
- Leading the Strategic Information Oversight Board, DoW's senior governance forum for influence and information policy.
- Facilitating allied collaboration as the Secretariat for the Five Eyes Information Operations Senior Steering Group and leading other IO-related engagements with allies and partners.
- Convening the annual Phoenix Challenge© Conference to foster collaboration and drive innovation across the IO community.
